WIZARDS OF MICKEY #1 continues the epic tale of magical adventure that will finish its first arc in MICKEY MOUSE & FRIENDS issues #296 – #299. Popular enough to garner its own stand alone series, the WIZARDS OF MICKEY serial continues the adventures of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy as they compete in the Grand Wizard’s tournament, determined to win all the pieces of the Sorcerer Supreme’s crown and free Mickey’s master from the clutches of the evil Phantom Blot!

With WIZARDS OF MICKEY spinning off into its own series, MICKEY MOUSE & FRIENDS takes a break with issue #299, while we prepare the next wave of amazing Mickey adventures.

DISNEY’S HERO SQUAD: ULTRAHEROES bursts from the pages of WALT DISNEY’S COMICS AND STORIES, where the first arc of the story is featured in WALT DISNEY’S COMICS AND STORIES #699 – #702. DISNEY’S HERO SQUAD: ULTRAHEROES follows Super Goof, The Duck Avenger, Eega Beeva, The Red Bat and more coming together as Disney’s mightiest band of heroes, ready to stomp out the bad guys wherever they may lurk!

With DISNEY’S HERO SQUAD spinning off into its own series, WALT DISNEY’S COMICS AND STORIES #703 will see the debut of a new serial entitled, “Mickey Mouse and The World to Come” by internationally renowned Disney writer and artist Casty.

Studios revealed today that Comic-Con ‘09 exclusive limited edition hardcover collections of their red hot series THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK, THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS and CARS: THE ROOKIE will be offered for sale at limited signing times throughout the week during Comic-Con International at the BOOM! Studios booth (#2543.) THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK’s Roger Langridge, THE INCREDIBLES’ Mark Waid and CARS’ Alan Porter will be doing group signings of these Comic-Con ‘09 Exclusive Hardcovers throughout the week at certain times.

The Comic-Con ‘09 Exclusive Hardcovers of THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK, THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS and CARS: THE ROOKIE will be limited to 250 copies, serially numbered, and contain all four issues of each respective series presented in hardcover for the first time with unique, never-to-be-repeated covers.

Editions will be first offered for sale during Preview Night, July 22nd only from 6pm to 7pm with fans getting the opportunity to have Langridge, Waid and Porter sign their copies. Any remaining copies will be made available later in the week during signing times at Comic-Con ‘09.

Fans should keep in mind, while distributor Diamond Comics are completely sold out, THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS #1 and THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK #1 may still be found at direct market retailers across the country.

Diamond Comics Distributors is making the second printings of THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS #1 and THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK #1 available for retailers to order immediately. THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS #1 second print (FEB098554) will reprint all covers A through D but this time feature a special recolored “Night Version” of the 4 interconnecting covers by Michael Avon Oeming. THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK #1 second print (FEB098555) features a brand new cover by Roger Langridge focusing on Kermit the Frog.

Second printings should hit store shelves by the end of April.

“I am giddy. I am thrilled. The fact that these books that everyone worked so hard on are finding a large audience is just really gratifying on all levels,” said BOOM! KIDS editor Paul Morrissey. “On a personal note, I am happy for Waid, who wrote the perfect INCREDIBLES comic and Roger Langridge, who wrote the perfect MUPPET SHOW comic. “I’ve never seen anything like this. Sure, with the current economic climate, we are definitely printing more conservatively than years before, but even so, the velocity of late in the game re-order activity for these books have been totally out of this world,” said Marketing and Sales Director Chip Mosher. “Those re-orders ate up all the leftover stock at Diamond and then some. Not in our wildest dreams could we predict that we would effectively be sold out the day before these books hit the stands. Once we saw what was happening, we went into overdrive to get second prints of both books rolling into Diamond.”
